We're baaaaaaack... Well, sort of. Turns out that having three kids and moving state lines is super difficult. Who would've thought? On this episode, Emily has guest Kevin on to talk about the HBO documentary "Beware the Slenderman". Where carefree folklore turns into attempted murder. We go into this tragic true crime documentary from 2016. A crime that shook kids and parents back in May of 2016, when two 12-year-old girls stabbed their friend 19 times while acting as "proxies" for the Slenderman.

Emily and Jaclyn watched the 2023 Netflix documentary titled, "Pamela, a love story" which was directed by Ryan White. In her own words, through personal videos and diaries, Pamela Anderson shares the story of her rise to fame, rocky romances and the infamous sex tape scandal.

Aftershock

Emily and Jaclyn watched the 2022 documentary called "Aftershock" by Paula Eiselt and Tonya Lewis Lee. A disproportionate number of Black women are failed every year by the U.S. maternal health system. Shamony Gibson and Amber Rose Isaac die due to childbirth complications. Now, their partners and families sound a rallying cry around this crisis. Viewer discretion is advised when listening to this. We put in place a trigger warning in the beginning of the episode.

Emily and Jaclyn watched the Netflix 2023 documentary called "The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker." This shocking documentary chronicles a happy-go-lucky nomad's ascent to viral stardom and the steep downward spiral that resulted in his imprisonment.  This episode contains triggering information about rape, murder, and abuse. The Deep End

Emily and Jaclyn literally dive deep into the 2022 documentary called "The Deep End" which is an American four-part documentary series about the life and work of controversial spiritual influencer and author Teal Swan. Over the course of three years, filmmakers were granted full access to Swan and her cohort. The docu-series covers Swan's upbringing, her history of chronic physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, her rise to fame, and covers allegations of her being a cult leader.  TRIGGER WARNING: This episode will contain talks about abuse, trauma, and suicide. Batman & Bill

In this episode, Jaclyn and Emily watch Batman & Bill. A 2017 documentary about one man's journey to get the Co-creator of Batman; who almost no one knew about, credit for his creations. Bill Finger helped shaped the world of comics into what it is today. Without Bill there is no Batman or Gotham and so much more. Jaclyn and Emily have fun in this episode talking about all things comics, Batman, movies, and of course using their batman voices. This is a fun one y'all. This episode is in honor of Sir Bill Finger, as on this day in 1974, at the age of 59 Bill passed away. This one's for you Bill, you are Batman. Tune in now. 

Religulous

Emily and Jaclyn dive into the 2008 documentary called "Religulous" in which commentator-comic Bill Maher plays devil's advocate with religion as he talks to believers about their faith. Traveling around the world, Maher examines the tenets of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam and raises questions about homosexuality, proof of Christ's existence, Jewish Sabbath laws, and violent Muslim extremists. This documentary was directed by Larry Charles who directed such movies as Borat, Bruno, and The Dictator. 

Asian Tsunami: The Deadliest Wave

Emily and Jaclyn start off the new year watching the documentary called "Asian Tsunami: The Deadliest Wave" by Marc Tiley. It's the deadliest tsunami on record, causing 230,000 deaths and $15 billion in damages. Triggered by a massive undersea quake off the coast of Indonesia, the 2004 Asian tsunami pounded Indian Ocean coastlines with waves up to 100 feet high, catching victims and the world's leading scientists by storm.  If you like Earth and weather-related topics, this one is for YOU! Happy holidays. This episode Emily and Jaclyn watched two episodes from The Movies that made us on Netflix. We watched the Home Alone and Elf episodes. We go into fun facts about the making of these holiday classics. While also talking about traditions, controversial topics, and just pure adhd banter that is sure to get your mind off of the chaos that is family this holiday season. Casey Anthony - Where the Truth Lies (Part Two)

Emily and Jaclyn watch the shocking docuseries about Casey Anthony called "Casey Anthony - Where the Truth Lies."  We hear for the first time her side of what she believes happened to her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony. The trial of Casey Anthony was believed to be one of the first trials of the 21st century that polarized living rooms across America. This is the first in-person interview Casey Anthony ever did since she was acquitted of all counts of murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child. This 3 part documentary dives deep into Casey's life and into what happened in June of 2008 when her daughter went missing for more than 31 days before law enforcement was contacted. This is part two of our split episode!

Emily and Jaclyn watched the 2022 Peacock docuseries called "I Love You, You Hate Me". This two-part documentary dives deep into creation and success of the children's show Barney the Dinosaur. With its international success came tons of backlash towards the loving dinosaur and to crew.

76 Days

Emily and Jaclyn watched the 2020 documentary called 76 Days which captures the struggles of patients and frontline medical professionals battling COVID-19 in Wuhan, China. This documentary is by Hao Wu and Weixi Chen. 

This is a very touchy subject for some people so please be advise that we will be expressing our own opinions and experiences about COVID-19 and some will not agree. 

We try to make light of a shitty situation :)
